Every photo has a story to tell
The end of the year is always such an emotional time. It’s an opportunity to look back while also looking ahead.
Although I had a much later start with Explore the Moment than I had anticipated (I planned to open up in Jan 2017), I still managed to accomplish so much. The last few months have been a whirlwind of growth and learning.
I’ve meet lots of new people. Clients, new friends, like minded creatives, and people who I look to for inspiration.
Needless to say, I’m super excited for 2018. I have so many things planned, adventures, giveaways, model calls, mini sessions. It’s going to be difficult but amazing!
In my short 4 months in business, I managed to do several shoots that have become favorites. Although they are splattered all across my new website here (oh yeah! How do you all like the new site?) I though I would share my own “best 9” rather than let Instagram pick them all (tho I do agree with some of their choices!)
Best of 9
One
My first and only newborn session, of course it’s one of my favorites. I was so grateful that just as I was starting Explore The Moment, that this little princess was born. This session really taught me a lot right out the gate! I can’t wait to do more newborn sessions.
Two
These two were such a lovely couple, you may not be able to tell but Sara is pregnant with their fourth little! We did their session in their brand new home- their yard was aaaahmazing!
Three
I had the pleasure of meeting Megan (and her son Phoenix) through The MOB NW and did a mom and son photo session for them! Megan is such a gentle and sweet lady who also runs parenting programs for families. Check her out Here!
Four
This girl is not only gorgeous, but like me she’s a “Mountain Chick” (that’s how I got to know her) she knows how to rock being a strong and beautiful woman!
Five
These two! We had a quick little session at a cabin in snowy Government Camp Oregon, and I just loved their playful nature so much. Couples like these two make it easy to capture sweet moments.
Six
I got lucky when “Ello Ruthie” wanted to collaborate and we had the perfect moody day to do her session. She was so great to work with and I loved every photo from that day!
Seven
This session will stand out to me above all the rest. The cat (Merrill) photographed is 21 years old and will be passing away soon. So the family wanted to have a lifestyle session to capture some moments with Merrill in their new home. The entire family was such a joy to work with.
Eight
When your best friends need photos you make it happen! They were adorable on the other side of my lens and I’m so glad they chose me to do their session!
Nine
I also met Nicole through The MOB NW, and she wanted fall photos in a beautiful location. As always, I went out scouting and found this gorgeous spot! They are a picture perfect family, the littles were so full of energy!
Here is Instagrams Best Nine of 2017!
Reflecting on these past sessions has made me feel so blessed to be able to do this “work.” It’s hard to imagine next year being better, but I know it has to be since I’ll have a full 12 months to devote to my craft. What was your favorite (or worst) part of 2017? What are you looking forward to in 2018?
See you all in the New Year! ✌🏼
